◾️Carelinks is expanding its business in the gynecology field. Could you tell us the reason for this?
What initially motivated me to want to contribute to patients in the field of gynecology was a personal experience: even though I am a gynecologist, I did not realize that my wife had endometriosis.
My wife had always had severe menstrual symptoms, but she thought it was normal to just endure them and did not visit a gynecologist.
Since I was an office worker, I had a health check every year, but it did not include gynecological examinations.
At the time, I realized that I was also at fault for not noticing something was wrong with my wife and doing something about it, but at the same time, I realized that society's system for supporting women is not perfect, for example, because there are diseases specific to women and gynecological items are not included in health checkups.
I also learned that many people are unaware that simply visiting a gynecologist can solve any problems they may have.
Rather than thinking of visiting a gynecologist as a last resort, I wanted people to feel comfortable and at ease visiting a gynecologist, even if they only have a slight physical discomfort that they feel is "no big deal," and I wanted to create a habit of being able to deal with any illness, and I wanted to contribute to that. That's why I decided to expand into the gynecology field.
◾️In your opinion, what are the medical challenges in the field of gynecology, and what is needed to solve these challenges?
It is only very recently that medical treatment for symptoms specific to women's bodies has begun to receive attention.
Although we may refer to it as a woman's body, the symptoms vary from one woman to the next, so even if women discuss it with each other, they cannot identify the illness by talking to each other, which is risky and dangerous.
Unlike the past, we are now in an age where women are playing an active role at the forefront of society.
As a result, it is becoming more and more difficult for modern women to go to the hospital even if they feel a slight physical discomfort.
In today's world where women are active, in addition to social background reasons, there are also problems on the medical side that make it difficult for women to visit hospitals easily.
Many medical institutions still use outdated appointment systems, which result in long lines to see a doctor and inefficient waiting times in line to get prescriptions and pay fees.
These various factors combine to make it difficult for women to find time to take care of their own bodies, so as gynecologists, we are designing and developing a service that combines online and offline to remove the hassle of women's medical care and make it more convenient and accessible.
For example, we currently offer online consultations specializing in gynecological care, as well as mail-in testing services that allow patients to test, identify, and treat physical ailments at home. We have designed these services with the idea of enabling each individual to receive medical care comfortably, in accordance with their own lifestyle.
◾️Thank you. Finally, please tell us what you are aiming for as the CEO.
Simply put, I strive every day to contribute from a medical perspective to creating a society where people can live more comfortably and easily.
